Review // Giant Bicycles Trance 27.5 3
I referred to the other two Giant Bicycles I’ve review as squishy speed machines. They aren’t even close to the speed and squishiness of the Trance! With 5.5 inches of travel I glided all over the mountain!
To stay fare to the Anthem 27.5 and Anthem X 29, I rode the entry level Trance to get a feel for this monster at the ground level. Pretty effing impressive.
By now you should know I’m a big advocate for the 27.5 wheel set. Best of both worlds they say… and when I pick up a BRAAPPmobile for myself, it will most definitely be one with a 27.5 set up. When you add that with a crap load of suspension… you glide over objects with a lot of speed.
Pros:
FAST, lots of squish, solid entry level drivetrain.
Cons:
That’s a lot of squish. This model comes with a front lockout. A rear is needed for sure. It would also be nice to have adjustable suspension (this comes in upgraded models).
I really enjoyed the Trance 27.5 3. It was the most fun bombing down the mountain. When it came to climbing, things got a bit interesting… but the intent for this model is more so for said bombing down the mountain.
If you do more down than up in your mountain thrashery… go with the Trance 27.5 3. If you have a little more funds in your wallet… go with the upgraded models, the better components will serve you well to turn this downhill monster into more of an all around mountain ripper!

Movie time Thursday! I’ve been waiting for Part 6 to post so I could share the entire series with you goons.
I haven’t always understood Ed’s art. Some projects I’ve really LOVED whereas others have been offensive (to me). So where does that leave me… It leaves me holding onto the standard of the Ride x Create vibe Kyle and I live by. Push your limits. Make cool shit happen. Sometimes that means doing something you feel is right when everyone else will damn you for it.

Ride Railed Roads x Ditches
I decided to explore yesterday and see how rad of a route I could make right in my own neighborhooded area. The shots above are the outcome.
I started following a railed road and found a lot of “get rad” areas to investigate. After I got a bit muddy and taken a few shots (to hopefully encourage you to go explore), I wanted to end with a ok short climb with a super steep gravel decent. From the ditches to the summit… yesterday was great. I hope your day was equally as eventful.

“At first glance, the life of a touring musician can seem wildly glamorous: Late nights, different cities, fans that adore you…But look a little deeper and you’ll see that the reality of life on the road is very much to the contrary. Though there are good times to be had, the majority of a touring musician’s life is spent in transition. Transition from city to city, venue to venue, and hotel to hotel.
Mission Workshop and FILTER Magazine went on tour with San Francisco audio/visual artist Tycho, to capture this consuming experience. In an effort to make the travels more tolerable, we outfitted Tycho with full sets of bags and apparel for each of the band members. The documentation of the travel between the shows and snapshots Tycho’s live performance captured just prior to the 2014 Awake tour, became a photo collection we call, Lucid.” – MW

Ride Construction Sites
Not everyone can ride everyday (and that’s a shame) due to (type reason here), but when you do break free from your responsibilities (hopefully riding is your responsibility) you can hit it up (Note: I’ve been neglecting skateboarding lately [wrist slap])!!
I LOVE finding construction zones! They’re always gnarly with big ass machines hanging out to be put back to work that night or the next day. It’s exciting to break past their “road closed” signs and feel the freedom that I’m the only one on the beaten path.
I highly encourage you to search for these spots and go have a blast! Whether it’s road or building construction, you will always be able to make a fun loop out of it. Cheers!
