I’m starting to explore my rural surroundings.  Starting in North Alabama, I pick a direction (mostly North and West), pack what I need and go.  These exploration rides (appropriately tagged #ruralridersrule) normally aren’t any more than 60’ish miles, but I try to expand my routes each time I role.

No Trespassing

My goal is to map a beautiful route of about 300 miles.  I’ve never gone on a bike/camp trip and have the itch to do so.  The Southeast is filled with old rundown towns and buildings. Farmland is everywhere. It’s beautiful.  The only problem I’ve run into so far is, everyone has big ass trucks on tiny roads and most back country farmers have no use for us tights wearing “hippies”; so they’re not very generous when it comes to sharing the road.

Model 101

I do my best to take the road less traveled, but at the end of the day, I’m on a mission to explore. Sometimes this is a bit dangerous. Pushing your limits whether it’s riding or creating generally always takes a risk. But let’s not take risk for the sake of risk taking.  Identify said risk, confirm it is or isn’t necessary, then commit to what needs committing to to accomplish your goal.

Ten I See

I hope your weekends were full of good times!  I had a blast.
