Hands down the best helmet I’ve ever ridden in. I never thought I would be a white helmet guy. I figured I’d be blacked out forever. POC changed that after .2 seconds of trying the Octal on.
After helmet shopping for a few weeks I came across the Octal. It fit my head like a glove and that’s saying something due to my oddly shaped dome. It’s VERY light weight and comfortable, weighing in at less than 200 grams. I knew immediately after placing it on my head that this was THE helmet.
To be honest I wasn’t even considering POC until Ross at Western Bike Works (Portland, OR) introduced me. I was holding out for the new Giro Synthe to drop (about 4 more weeks) and only had my eyes set on one of those bad boys. I loved my previously used AEON until it was cracked in 4 places due to my head going through a ladies windshield because she thought that texting and driving was more important than potentially killing somebody… Anyways, for my head type… the POC won on all levels comparing GIRO’s fit to POC’s. After riding in the Octal for the last few months, I couldn’t be happier! Because of that I wanted to put a few shots together for your viewing pleasure. I hope you enjoy.
Go to POC and check out all the details on the POC Octal. If you have the opportunity… go to your local bicycle shop and check one out first hand. I hope you are pleased with POC products as I am. (all images captured using film photography)
Just went over to Fairdales site to check out their new “Water Water” t-shirt and got distracted by these three (out of 9) beauties! I absolutely love Fairdale Bikes, and although I’ve never ripped on one… I could only imagine it would take my love for them to the next level!
Go to Fairdale Bikes and check out all the rad, as well as their new “Water Water” tee that’s pretty killer!
“Cinelli is once again sponsor of MONSTER TRACK NYC. In addition to the event cycling cap we also produced a video interview with Alfred Bobe Jr. the 4 time champion.”
“Filmed and edited all in the same evening, TURF Tuesdays is the latest monthly installment coming of the Bay Area. We met up after work around 5:30 and rode to the Civic Center in down town SF where we caught clips / kicked it until the sun went down.”
I’m instantly in love with this. Element has always been on board… with so many creative folks!
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
“Element is proud to introduce the Element x TIMBER! Collection, inspired by recreational biking: The second capsule collection with Element advocate, Chad Eaton aka TIMBER!, this collection presents a combination of lifestyle classics with vintage bike inspiration and a touch of modern functionality.
The collection was created around the idea and under Element’s motto “Keep discovering” – while traveling across countries on a bike. It is a lifestyle collection that includes technical and functional features for biking like reflective labels and trims. Highlights are for instance the “Tourer”, a cone mills selvedge mechanical flex denim, made in USA, with reflective print at the cuff.
Also, the denim jacket “Porteur” provides some special features that combine a lifestyle product with functionality for bicycling. Reflective details make sure to be seen at night while biking and it also features a longer back fit and shoulder gussets which provide more comfort.
Another key item and one of the more functional products is the shell jacket “ Randonneur”, a 2.5 layer shell jacket, waterproof with great breathability, reflective 3M trims, and compactable into its own custom pouch.
Since Element advocate TIMBER! is also a passionate bicyclist, it was just a matter of time Element came up with a special capsule collection around the bicycle theme. Besides the lifestyle products and appropriate accessories, this line also includes a number of TIMBER! advocate teesmade of organic cotton, all featuring his artworks, which are all inspired by bicycling of course.”
I’ve never written a post on a family member so this is pretty rad and slightly veering from the norm of day to day posts; nevertheless… here it goes.
Layne Weber puts the create in Ride x Create… although he does skate and on the verge of picking up a fresh bicicleta. Layne (DJ-120) is a student at Belmont University in Nashville, TN pursuing music production on all levels. Now lets be honest… we’ve all had those friends that are really motivated to “kill it” only to get distracted by whatever takes precedence over the original vision (i.e. chemical consumption, ladies/dudes, other personal issues that may arise, etc.). That’s not Layne. He’s been pursuing music production for the last 6 years and currently at one of the best schools in the nation… one VERY driven dude.
Why am I sharing these fun facts with you? Simple… I’m proud of my cousin and have a creative platform to share that with you fine folks.
You may jam to what he’s produced, you may not. Regardless of that fact you should head over and check out a solid representation of what he’s created to this point. Jah blessed!
