As you have already read in a post not so far down the line… Davis and I went to a BMX Jam last weekend. I shot with my iPhone/Vivitar PS:30 (film yet developed) and Davis nabbed shots with a Pentax k1000 x ILFORD film you will see below. Pretty rad perspective.

Chrome Industries has hooked up a rad new HUB in the Mission. I’m just now getting to post about this although this party went down a few weeks ago.
These two photos kill it!

If you are in the area you should stop in and check this new Chrome HUB out.
**Also… “We’re building a Pop-Up Parklet in front of our SF Mission HUB tomorrow (today May 8th) for SF’s Bike to Work Day. Noon to 7pm our bike mechanics (for the day) will be making free adjustments and giving out good advice. 4pm to 7pm the BBQ will be blazing and the beer will be flowing. There might be some discounts on gear too. You gotta show to know.” – Chrome Industries
“ABUS Mobile Security, Inc. announced today that they will sponsor the 2014 PeopleForBikes Ride on Chicago. The ride, which kicks off in Kansas City, MO on May 29 and covers more than 500 miles in 5 days before arriving in Chicago on June 2nd, benefits PeopleForBikes and is designed to raise both funds and awareness for safer and better bicycling in the United States.
ABUS Marketing Manager Joan Hanscom, who will join the ride as one of the 25 riding the route in its entirety, explained the company’s decision to become involved, “ABUS believes wholeheartedly in the mission of PeopleForBikes and we are very proud to sponsor the Ride on Chicago – especially as it finishes in our own hometown! Not only are we professionally invested in seeing safer and thriving infrastructure for bikes and bicyclists but on a very personal level we are all believers. Everyone in our office commutes to work by bike. We know from real life experiences that it’s important to have safer roads for all cyclists.”
She continued, “Chicago has made a tremendous investment in bicycling. We have a local frame builders, a women’s only bike shop, a thriving bike share system, an expanding network of protected bike lanes, a robust network of trails and bike paths throughout the state. ABUS is proud to be a part of this community and we believe that by supporting PeopleForBikes and the Ride that we are making a very real contribution to seeing even more cyclists on the road riding safely here and in other communities – along the Ride route and across the whole country.” – ABUS
One of the may reasons I love ABUS Locks. Go to Ride On Chicago to check out more details and the route these folks will be riding. Looks like a good time for sure.

“What makes Endo Customs the best is that they craft all their suits in their small workshop in downtown Los Angeles, handling all the printing, cutting and sewing in house and source only the most premium quality fabrics and materials.”
Go check out a little back story on these Velodrome shots as well as the full features of the Affinity Cycles x Endo Customs Team Kits!

LET US ROAM – Official Trailer from Let Us Roam on Vimeo.
“Let Us Roam is an ongoing short film series supported by Leica Camera. This series features stories about photographers, artists, filmmakers and musicians inside of the skateboarding culture. For many, skateboarding is a lifestyle that breeds creativity, and often-times the doorway leading to various avenues of expression. This first four part film portrait series tells the stories from behind the lens and path that led these artists to photography”
This is it! The Ride x Create vibe to the max. So inspiring. Go to LET US ROAM to check out more as this develops. I can’t wait to watch this.
David killing it the second year in a row (shown on the left shooting video)!! It’s always impressive to see who makes it out to this rad BMX Jam in the small town of Hartselle, AL. David pulls together folks near and far. Luckily I’m only about 30 minutes away so it’s a no brainer to pop in and do my best to photo document the event. Plus… my bud Chris Rost was out nailing it. Never a bad time shooting this dude.
David Cortez getting up.
Chris Rost. Grind 360 out. Never quite stuck it but got damn close. The whole event was cheering him on.
As the day went on and my conveniently place Poler koozie at my side… the beers kept flowing as the Jam rolled on. But lets be honest… who doesn’t get that extra creative spark after a few adult beverages? You tend to be a bit more explorative and willing to get that shot you may overlook otherwise. It’s really a fine line between “creative drinking” vs. “now I’m drunk”.
This dude! Named “The Brit”, started pushing flares on the quarter and eating it pretty good. He got so close, but after a couple hard slams he gave them up for the day.
I hope you dig. If you’re in the area you should come out and support this next year. You can follow along on David Cortez’s social media goodness via Twitter and Instagram. I hope you will. Cheers!
OH MAN!! All my favorite dudes getting super creative!! I hope you’re pumped. Go shred!
