Bike Mag x Mission Workshop // Ask A Founder :: Keith Bontrager

Keith Bontrager

Mission Workshop and Bike Magazine… never a bad combo.

The “Ask A Founder” series is so good!  Kyle and I are the Founders of FOLLY and we run into struggles all time… how we want to be defined, what to create next, who to connect with, and the list goes on. It is NEVER a bad idea to learn from folks that have already been where we are currently, and ask questions on how to push past perceived limitations.  Bike Magazine and Mission workshop have made it very easy for you fine folks to do just that.  Get on good ol’ Twitter and #ASKBONTRAGER to ask Keith a question of your choosing… I will be. I’ve got tons of questions (don’t worry, I’m only gonna ask. a. couple…)

I hope you participate, and if you’re in the area, you should definitely attend… share a beer (I mean coffee because it will be 10 a.m.) and a few high fives.  Cheers!!

Cinelli BOOTLEG Tour d’Afrique 2013 – Hobo from CINELLI-BOOTLEG on Vimeo.

Tell me you’re not pumped to take a cross country ride after watching this!  My palms are sweaty with excitement!

“Hobo is a totally new steel frame bicycle, engineered and equipped for off-road rides on long distances, already proving itself along the adventurous 12.000 kilometres of the 2013 Tour d’Afrique. TdA is a world renowned endurance-race, now in its 11th edition. What better way for the hobo to announce itself to the world than with 3 distinguished Cinelli riders blazing across the African terrain.
Chas Christiansen, 100% pure San Francisco and one of the top riders of the Cinelli Mash Team, an iconic figure of the fixed-gear culture, always on the highest steps of Criteriums, Alleycats and Cyclo-Cross Single-Speed races podiums.
Lucas Brunelle, native of Boston, is an established filmmaker who introduced a unique first-person filming technique in cycling races thanks to his great riding skills and the innovative helmet-integrated camera-system. Lucas is responsible for filming and reporting the most extreme race contests all over the globe for more than ten years.
Dario Toso couldn’t miss out, designer and explorer of the contemporary and long-time ambassador of the ‘Bootleg State of Mind’.”

Cinelli Hobo

“Tour d’Afrique 2013 ended 1 month ago. I took part at the final leg from Windhoek to Cape Town with Chas Christiansen and Lucas Brunelle.  It was the perfect scenery for testing the Cinelli Hobo prototype.  We reached the TdA Group in Windhoek and rode with them along 1700 km of dirt, sand, wind and road. Definitely one of the best experiences of my life!” – Dario Toso

FOLLY Review // Chrome’s De Haro Windbreaker

De Haro In Le Rain

Chrome’s De Haro Windbreaker is PERFECT for you windy ridin hooligans! The fit is great, style is on point and it is lacking no functionality!  One of the many reasons I keep coming back to Chrome.

IMG_1490

This light weight wind breaking weapon of choice would be incomplete if Chrome’s signature Griffin was missing. This graceful little fella is properly perched for you to thrash in style.

IMG_1491

Not only is it functional as a bomb proof windbreaker, it will help defeat a light rain during your ride. And, as it is a field jacket cut/style, there are army men represented well on the inside tag.

IMG_1487

SAFETY FIRST!  Kinda, never a bad idea to let those asshole drivers know you would prefer to be seen and not ran over. The reflective strip on the end of each sleeve is reversible to be seen and unseen at your choosing.

IMG_1489

Since this is designed for the spring/summer to defeat the wind and light rain, there is a two way zipper that will let the heat out and good times in.  The De Haro has strategically placed vents to assist in this as well.

And at the end of the day… you may want to throw this sucker in a bag without the hassle of clustering up yer goodie satchel. So, Chrome made a pouch in the back to stuff this sucker in. It also serves as a great compartment for a beer on the go, tools, wallet, picture of your sweet mother, etc.

There you have it friends. The Chrome De Haro Windbreaker is an excellent choice for your wearing pleasure during these windy/rainy days of spring/summer.  I hope you enjoyed my two cents about it.  This jacket will be a standard on any ride/traveling trip I will embark on.

Cheer!!
