This weekend was filled with windy miles on oddly warm winter days. I’ll take it!
IN. LOVE!!! Doode, I wear a lot of black. This is not black. I’m head over heals about it.
Good stuff ICNY!
Go to ICNY and check out their Orbit Tech Jacket. I hope you love it as much as I do.
Introducing the The ICNY Orbit Tech Jacket: your new favorite piece of outerwear for 2016. The Orbit Tech Jacket contains weather-ready features built for the elements, with an aesthetic appeal that’s equally style-worthy for the city streets. The bright green outer shell is waterproof – allowing the wearer to shed the showers away during foul-weather bicycle commutes and other outdoor activities. The Orbit Tech Jacket is also the brand’s first piece of outerwear to contain reflective technology, not only on the exterior, but the interior as well. The inner shell contains a special reflective foil lining that provides heat retention: allowing superior moisture and heat management, while the reflective design elements of the outer shell provide visibility in low light conditions.
This weekend was filled with exploration sessions (as you can see from this post and the two below). With weekends like these I always have a bike exploration session hangover come Monday, leaving me in a daze, daydreaming about hanging out in nature all day. Satisfied and craving more all at the same time.
I’ve never been more pleased with a Chrome Industries wearable product like I am with their Warm Work Shirt. Perfect combo of a lot of things. High style mixed with high visibility (aka strategically placed super reflective accents) mixed with a very light weight but very warm mid / top layer piece of winter defeating apparel.
To be honest, it reminds me of the cold weather M65 Field Jacket Coat Liner I wore in the Air Force many moons ago, only way more stylish but equally as effective.
The Chrome Warm Work Shirt is now my go to for the rest of this cold season. Thanks for making great things Chrome.
Go to Chrome Industries and check out more detailed shots on the Warm Work Shirt.
Blackburn introduces the perfect bag for any week long adventure or all day leisure ride – the Outpost Frame Bag. Carefully considering the best features needed for each bag, Blackburn tailors every compartment and pocket to make sure there’s a perfect place for everything. Perfectly adaptable to this wet season, it is water resistant and includes adjustable mounting systems to allow fitment to all bikes thanks to Velcro straps that can be fastened to multiple lash points. The pack is worry free of having the foot rubbing while pedaling due to the small divider that sticks in place and holds the sides of the bag close together. In addition, an expandable bottom compartment accommodates more mission critical gear so you can focus on the important things. Form, utility and performance are what to expect from the Blackburn Outpost Frame Bag.
Available in two sizes – Medium ($60) and Large ($65).
Really love these. Perfect for this winter season to get out there with everything you need to keep you going. Cheers to that!
“Brooks England announces the release of the latest addition to the expanding Cambium range. The Carbon “C13” aimed toward high end road bike users. Cambium saddles are made from a vulcanised natural rubber top that follows the movements of the rider for responsive control and all-day comfort. Suspended over a one-piece braided carbon frame, the C13 is light and strong for today’s performance cyclist.
The C13 utilities the same vulcanized natural rubber and organic cotton top of the Cambium line, yet weighs 150g less than the popular C15 model. This is accomplished through a continuous carbon rail that eliminates performance-resistant contact points and saves weight. The continuous rail is riveted to a Cambium top of vulcanized rubber and organic cotton for a monochromatic construction offering considerable strength and flexible performance characteristics. Finished with aluminium rivets in all black, tested by over 100 riders, including cycling icon David Millar who rode his C13 over the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix, undoubtedly one of the greatest challenges any racing saddle might face.”
It’s always fun to read about rad builds. This one specifically is fun to look at since I got to go explore and shoot with Matt as he very comfortably handled this two wheeled machine as if it was an extension of his own body.
Go to Wheel Talk Fixed to read a little back story on Matt’s Affinity Lo Pro as well as a few more shots.
Dead Fucking Last from God & Famous on Vimeo.
Love the mental game this pushes.
“You’re Dead. Learn From This And Push On. It’s Not Always About The Outcome But The Journey That Got You There. And The Things That Don’t Kill You Will Only Make You Stronger. Eating A Loss Makes Winning Taste That Much Better. This Is Dedicated To The Off Days. Dead Fucking Last.”
Go to God & Famous and check out more on this collaboration with Aventon. Pumped to see Moe out their killing it!
DOODE. YES!! It’s that time of year again to start thinking about dominating The Great Divide or Pacific Coast with Blackburn as they start looking for folks to participate in the 2016 Ranger program.
Each year this comes up I go to instant daydream land imagining what it would be like to really get out there and experience what most, like me, can only image. Although I’ve been on plenty of exploration sessions in my day… nothing will top traveling across the coast or divide in this fashion.
“SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif, (January 6, 2016) – Continuing in the spirit of adventure, Blackburn announces its fourth installation in its ‘Out There’ Ranger program, opening up applications to all cyclists.
Blackburn will be recruiting 6 new brand ambassadors for 2016. Nicknamed ‘Rangers,’ these ambassadors will be the ultimate testers of Blackburn products, while supporting and promoting the core culture that Blackburn thoroughly believes and embodies. The program will continue to feature two of the most iconic cycling routes, the people who ride them, and the uncommon adventures they have along the way. The Pacific Coast Highway and the Great Divide Route will continue to serve as the pages that the Blackburn ambassadors will write their adventures upon.
‘We know that there is a great story around every corner once you are on your bike, and we want to be a part of that again,’ said Robin Sansom, Blackburn brand manager. ‘Enabling adventure through design and innovation was the reason that Jim Blackburn started the company 40 years ago.'”
Head to Blackburn Design and check out more on how to apply to be a Ranger as well as info on the routes.
