“Type Ride”

“Consider this your personal invitation to a fun night of bike riding and typography.

If you live in or around the Dallas area mark your calendars for next Tuesday, July 17, at 6 pm at WELD. We will be exploring the surrounding areas of WELD which are home to some fantastic typographical treasures.

Bring your bike. Bring your camera. But most of all, bring your socks because they’re gonna be knocked off.” – Kyle Steed

Wolfpack Hustle. The Midnight Drag Race from Midnight Ridazz on Vimeo.

Damn… My jaw is drops ladys and gentleman. This promo vid for the Wolfpack Hustle Midnight Drag Race is by far the best I’ve seen to date.

TRAFIK says it best:

“The next chapter in epic street racing is here! TRAFIK is proud to announce it’s sponsorship of the Wolfpack Hustle Midnight Drag Race 2012! It’s going down on July 28th, the biggest and best race we have helped organize yet. The famed 2nd street tunnel in Downtown Los Angeles will be closed off to all vehicles for a night of racing, music, battles and friends. This is a completely legal event, and the first of it’s kind EVER! #gamechanger”

If social media was only good for one thing it would be for bringing great photographers like Jesse Carmody to my attention.  Instagram is one of those powerful tools we use to spread our creativity to the world.  Jesse has been showing our Folly instagram (@createfolly) a lot of love.  In return we would like to show our appreciation for Jesse’s keen eye and creativity via photography.  Definitely make sure to check out Mr. Carmondy’s site (link above) and his instagram feed (@jessecarmody).  Thanks for the love and inspiration Jesse!  Ride x Create

The Open Road

Summer heat requires pool time.  That doesn’t always mean that the pool is close.  What it does mean is I load my sweet Chrome Yalta full of ice and beverage then trek the highway to said oasis.  This was done with successful results.  Thanks Chrome for the ability to make alcohol transportation so accessible.

“The Art of Climbing”

Very nice climbing strategy! Make sure to check out the indepth article over at Rapha

“I’m not a racer. I like riding hard but I tend to ride quite a few mountains in the same day, and for quite a few days in succession. Therefore, I ride up each with the next one in mind. So my tips are possibly more useful to the rider who wants to enjoy the climb and survive it, than to a rider whose sole aim is winning.” – Phil ‘the Goat’ Deeker

Filming Myself #5 from Paper Fortress on Vimeo.

This had me laughing!  I was cruising Prolly‘s site and saw this light hearted video from Paper Fortress!  I love it.  Very well done sir.

Make sure to go check out the rest of Stebs “Filming Myself” vids.  Promise they won’t disappoint!  Cheers

“This time around I took a bit more time (two days) to film myself “dating” my bike. There are few better feelings in this world to me than riding a bike and shooting video, so I set out around the Boston area to film myself riding my bike. Hopefully the video makes you even close to as happy as I was while making it.” – Stebs
