A high-performance, microfiber, polyester that moves sweat away from the body, to the fabric surface, where it evaporates. Seagull Bags // “How Dare You”

imageHey guys,

Thursday is usually the day where I start realize how much of the stuff I was supposed to have done by Friday is not going to get done. Time to focus, time to bust some shit out. How much can I still get done? What is truly priority? Am I gonna have to skip happy hour again and stay late? My real question is; How dare you? I just burned over two hours on your site. I am offended that you would so flippantly seek to destroy all of my productivity.

I got into cycling through skateboarding like a good number of people our age did. My ideal day consists of throwing my board on my front rack with a 12 pack and hitting up the park with some friends. That is not super important actually. I just wanted to shoot over a quick mid-week message and let y’all know that your site is great! I love the mix of skating/cycling/design. Keep up the good work!” – Dan McKewen (Owner/Designer Seagull Bags)

To Help Dan and the Seagull Bags Crew stay even busier… make sure to go check out Seagull Bags and all their rad American Hand Made products!

Thanks for taking the time to look through our site Dan, and sending over the thoughtful message! This email made my week.

Wheeler Get Lost Ride

WR4I had the opportunity to just go ride (a.k.a. no agenda or time limit due to other things needing my attention). I had the route I wanted to ride in mind but wasn’t quite certain if that was going to be the full ride for the day. I revisited this 3-5 mile dirt path following railed roads that link up with a road that would take me further out into the country. I went out and knew of an inlet that would take me to Wheeler Wildlife Refuge routes I had ridden previously.

I start heading to Wheeler. As I’m approaching the well known routes, I see this side gate open in the opposite direction. I take it. It leads me in and out of the woods into farm land and wild life refuge areas that are absolutely stunning. I took several different turns carelessly riding until I couldn’t make out a path ahead.

All in all the ride was only about 45 miles and for the first time in a very long time, I truly felt lost. My phone only had 20’ish percent battery left or else there would be a lot more pictures taken. Normally that wouldn’t stop me but I forgot to pack an extra tube; a previous ride took it out and the thought hit me that If I’m 10-15 miles away from civilization… it would be a good thing to be able to call for a pick up or tube drop off.

This particular railed road is marked as a “Private Railroad”. Not sure what that means but it makes me think of sneaky smuggling for some reason. WR3The first opening into the new dirt/gravel road.WR6Wooded path entranceWRIt was a big contrast from the open clouded sunshine. Dark with the sound of my tires crushing rock and dirt; woodland creatures scurrying in the trees and forest floor.  Processed with VSCOcam with m6 presetBack into open land. Processed with VSCOcam with m6 presetThere was one point where a damn crossed a section of the refuge into the Tennessee River. It would be a great place to ride to, beer in tote, and watch the sun set.

This was a super rad ride that I’ll revisit several times. Feel free to get in touch if you’re in the local area to ride along. Cheers!

Ride Construction Sites 2

imageimageimageimageIt’s the small 10 mile explore seshes like these that get me amped! No agenda or particular direction in mind. Just go and see what you can see on your two wheeled speed machine.

There has been a lot of construction in my area lately with no construction workers working, which lends the opportunity to go have fun.

This construction area leads to a jogging path I’ve never really checked out. It turns out there is a tone of “get rad” areas off the beaten path. One particular area has a fast downhill right into a huge dirt mound you can huck off of (I did not capture this… I was having to much fun making runs at it)!!

I hope you goons are having a good Ride x Create vibe filled week! I most definitely am. Cheers!!
