Blackburn Design, making everyday tools for the everyday rider.
Loving the Wayside CO2 Inflator. An easy decision to pick up. As far as CO2 inflators go… this one gets the award for best looking. It’s CNC alloy construction and simple, proven spring loaded valve design that accommodates both Presta & Schrader valves is easy on the eyes and the wallet.
Bottle cages are always a tough purchase for me. Obviously I LOVE Stainless Steel (like the Blackburn Chicane’s I currently have on my road ripper) and drool over anything Titanium, but the price point can get up there pretty quick. I needed something not so fancy for my mountain and touring bicycles but still added style points without jacking up my water bottles. Low and behold… Blackburn had me covered yet again. Their Comp Aluminum Bottle Cage is only 6 grams heavier than the Stainless Chicane Cages (if you even care about that, which I don’t, but made me wonder why I bought the stainless version, OH that’s right… because they look bad ass) and $10 cheaper!! Easy. Purchase!! I love them for multiple reasons, but what stuck out the most is the fact that they don’t have Blackburn’s logo blasted on them like many of the other comparable price point cages out there, keeping my bicycles “clean” and simple look in tact.
I hope you dig these simple products as much as I do. Blackburn Design has been my one stop shop for the last several years. Pumped on’em.
Blackburn introduces the perfect bag for any week long adventure or all day leisure ride – the Outpost Frame Bag. Carefully considering the best features needed for each bag, Blackburn tailors every compartment and pocket to make sure there’s a perfect place for everything. Perfectly adaptable to this wet season, it is water resistant and includes adjustable mounting systems to allow fitment to all bikes thanks to Velcro straps that can be fastened to multiple lash points. The pack is worry free of having the foot rubbing while pedaling due to the small divider that sticks in place and holds the sides of the bag close together. In addition, an expandable bottom compartment accommodates more mission critical gear so you can focus on the important things. Form, utility and performance are what to expect from the Blackburn Outpost Frame Bag.
Available in two sizes – Medium ($60) and Large ($65).
Really love these. Perfect for this winter season to get out there with everything you need to keep you going. Cheers to that!
DOODE. YES!! It’s that time of year again to start thinking about dominating The Great Divide or Pacific Coast with Blackburn as they start looking for folks to participate in the 2016 Ranger program.
Each year this comes up I go to instant daydream land imagining what it would be like to really get out there and experience what most, like me, can only image. Although I’ve been on plenty of exploration sessions in my day… nothing will top traveling across the coast or divide in this fashion.
“SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif, (January 6, 2016) – Continuing in the spirit of adventure, Blackburn announces its fourth installation in its ‘Out There’ Ranger program, opening up applications to all cyclists.
Blackburn will be recruiting 6 new brand ambassadors for 2016. Nicknamed ‘Rangers,’ these ambassadors will be the ultimate testers of Blackburn products, while supporting and promoting the core culture that Blackburn thoroughly believes and embodies. The program will continue to feature two of the most iconic cycling routes, the people who ride them, and the uncommon adventures they have along the way. The Pacific Coast Highway and the Great Divide Route will continue to serve as the pages that the Blackburn ambassadors will write their adventures upon.
‘We know that there is a great story around every corner once you are on your bike, and we want to be a part of that again,’ said Robin Sansom, Blackburn brand manager. ‘Enabling adventure through design and innovation was the reason that Jim Blackburn started the company 40 years ago.'”

DOPE! I love multi-tools. I love Blackburn. I love this Blackburn multi-tool!!
“To prevent getting stuck in an inconvenient situation hard to get out of, Blackburn has introduced the ingenious, Wayside Multi-Tool. The selection, length and placement of each tool has been designed to ensure the right tool is there when needed. Including detachable hex keys and an 8mm Hex for additional leverage, trail side repairs have never been as seamless. With the added benefit of a serrated knife blade to take care of business at the camp site, the Wayside-Multi Tool becomes the epitome of an all-purpose tool”
“Our most powerful light has a gracious beam pattern and loads of mounting options. Whether commuting or touring long distances, the Central 700 vision light soaks your path with glorious, consistent, dependable, USB-recharged light.”
Really solid little lights from Blackburn Design. LOVE the extruded alloy shell on the back. Makes for a clean design that feels fancier than the price tag lets on. Another function I love is that every time you click through the cycle to turn the lights off, an LED fuel gauge/charge indicator lights up letting you know where you’re at with charge. If it’s low just plug them into any USB charging port, charge, and away you go. You can either clip the lights onto your bag, pocket, etc. OR use the silicone mounts that Blackburn provides. I find both options very useful.
DETAILS:
Central 100 Front Light • Built to ANSI FL-1 light standard
• Micro USB charging connection
• Extruded Alloy Shell
This is a really rad program. If you’ve been looking to get out and lose yourself via bicycle this is for you.
