Chrome WARM™ from Chrome Industries on Vimeo.
These look pretty solid for winter thrashing. Really diggin’ the reflective accents. If there is one thing I’ve learned this year of riding… it’s that people don’t see you, even mid day and it’s always good to be seen.
WORKSHIRT
The Chrome WARM™ Workshirt is the most versatile insulated jacket we can make. One side is high visibility rust orange, while the other is black diamond quilted. Both sides are made with water-resistant ripstop nylon. Bike specific details include longer torso and arms, reflective details, and ventilated yoke. The WARM™ Workshirt works on its own, or as an excellent mid-layer under our waterproof Storm™ Field Jacket and Storm™ Cobra.
VEST
We built the Chrome WARM™ Vest to be our most versatile urban cycling piece of clothing. It can be worn alone or layered under Chrome Strom™ and Wind™, and over our Chrome Merino™. The Chrome WARM™ Vest has a high visibility rust orange side and a low-key black diamond quilt pattern on the other. Both sides are made with water-resistant ripstop nylon and our lightweight poly fill packs tightly. Bike specific features include longer torso, ventilated yoke and reflective details.

There you go! Fresh from Chrome Industries for this years winter riding gear.
Make sure to go check out more over at Chrome. I hope you dig as much as I do!
“Living the City inspired us to look to those who service it. Our latest LTD Series pays homage to the folks who get us out of fires, get us home, and deliver our paychecks. Introducing the new City Service Series. We took two of our iconic bags and spun them to reflect the styles of Fire Departments, Caltrans and the US Postal Service. Get them while you can. When they’re gone they’re gone.” – Chrome
These are rad! Nice little high five to the folks that we’ve either used their services or seen them working hard for us hooligans.
Go to Chrome Industries and check these out! Made in USA all DAY!
Forged Rubber: 70 Years in the Making from Chrome Industries on Vimeo.
This is BAD. ASS!!
“INTRODUCING THE BEST CITY SNEAKER IN THE WORLD
Urban Mobility Gear Maker, Chrome Industries, Turns Modern Manufacturing Upside Down With New Individually Crafted Forged Rubber Sneakers
San Francisco, CA — Chrome Industries, the San Francisco-based company originally known for its messenger bag with its iconic seatbelt buckle and renowned for crafting “bombproof gear for living and riding the city,” today unveils ‘The Best City Sneaker In The World’ with its Forged Rubber line of footwear.
Chrome turns modern manufacturing upside down by resurrecting 70-year-old Forged Rubber machines originally used to make army boots in Europe. Discovered in eastern Slovakia, an area of the world known for its demanding city landscapes, these Forged Rubber machines were refurbished and adapted to make Chrome shoes that embody the brand’s spirit of making thoughtful, highly durable products. Each Forged Rubber sneaker is individually made by hand using heated pressure and the outsole is fused directly onto the upper to ensure no separation. The result is that no undesirable cement is used and Chrome shoe lasts under the most demanding conditions. A reflective heel and an odor resistant technology are also integrated for daily city survival.
“Chrome isn’t re-inventing the wheel with our new Forged Rubber process,” states Ben McCosh, Chrome’s Product Director.. “We are challenging the industry by using the best processes available to make durable city sneakers that last beyond one season. It’s a back-to-basics concept that most manufacturers simply overlook today due to the time, effort, and resources required to make durable sneakers. This is the Chrome way.”
Chrome’s Forged Rubber shoes are crafted from the bottom up. Its foundation – the rubber sole – is harvested from local rubber tree farms in Thailand and molded just 3-5 days after leaving the tree. From there, the materials are quickly assembled, and the canvas upper is pressure fused with the rubber at 300 degrees Fahrenheit to create shoes that look like sneakers, but are constructed with the durability of army boots.
With this introduction, Chrome continues to demonstrate its leadership in the rapidly growing urban mobility category that caters to city commuters and urban adventurers.
Chrome’s Forged Rubber Mobile Factory Tour brings making back to the people.
Chrome celebrates the craftsmanship behind their urban sneaker debut with its Forged Rubber Mobile Factory Tour, where one of the refurbished 70-year-old Slovakian Forged Rubber machines will travel to Chrome’s HUB stores in five cities, allowing more people to experience the hand-made manufacturing process in-person.”

Artist Series: NOA- Yalta from Chrome Industries on Vimeo.
“The newest edition to our Artist Series features the original artwork of Japanese artist NOA-. NOA- is as humble as he is talented. Typically using oil and acrylic paint on canvas or wood, he’s known for painting live with a style that emulates Japanese line-making. Each piece of art is influenced by the music he chooses to play as he paints, with most of his inspiration is deeply rooted in hip-hop and graffiti. NOA- created this artwork based on the Japanese phrase “Kuromu” (sounds like Chrome!) and means Black Fog. These one-of-a-kind Yalta bags come from a 4′ x 12′ canvas and acrylic painting NOA- made. Each of the 8 bags represents a specific segment of the painting where the Black Fog takes on a unique energy of its own. Our Artist Series is produced as a limited run. Once they are gone, they’re gone.” – Chrome
Head over to Chrome Industries and check out the images and videos from the Japan launch. Looked like it was a blast.
“After quitting his job at the frozen lemonade stall back in 1985, Ricky Powell, the self-proclaimed “”Lazy Hustler””, took his Minolta AF down the path where celebrity and debauchery meet. From Cindy Crawford in the bathroom to Andy Warhol on the streets of Brooklyn, the born and bred New Yorker is known for his uncanny ability to in the right place at the right time.
Early in his career he worked as a messenger to make ends meet, so Ricky was stoked to bomb our iconic Citizen Messenger Bag with his photos. He requested that we make the inside of the bag purple – the color of royalty and Ricky’s favorite color. A custom patch based on Ricky’s iconic hand radio is sewn inside each Photobomb Messenger Bag to commemorate this collaboration. We only produced a limited amount of these LTD Messenger Bags and when they’re gone, they’re gone.” – Chrome
Go to Chrome and check out these dope bags. I love the history behind it! ALSO… don’t neglect to check out Ricky Powell’s site and photo gallery showing off his work. Super motivated right now.

Chrome Industries has hooked up a rad new HUB in the Mission. I’m just now getting to post about this although this party went down a few weeks ago.
These two photos kill it!

If you are in the area you should stop in and check this new Chrome HUB out.
**Also… “We’re building a Pop-Up Parklet in front of our SF Mission HUB tomorrow (today May 8th) for SF’s Bike to Work Day. Noon to 7pm our bike mechanics (for the day) will be making free adjustments and giving out good advice. 4pm to 7pm the BBQ will be blazing and the beer will be flowing. There might be some discounts on gear too. You gotta show to know.” – Chrome Industries
This is all you need for your summer time riding shenanigans.
Chrome nails it everytime. I know we push a lot of Chrome goodness on the site… it’s because we truly love what they do.
