Worksman Cycles // Just Have Fun

Processed with VSCOcam with f3 preset

Last night I went on a fun, short, hilly ride starting and ending at Blevins Bicycle Co. After most rides I nab a 12’er, share beers with buds and talk bike talk at the shop. Matt Blevins recently nabbed two Worksman bikes from an older fella.  All he did was change out the tires and it rode so. good!! I hadn’t had the pleasure of cruising on this brilliant American made machine so I took it to the local station of gas and nabbed 12 cans of fun time.  I gotta say… the 3 speed hub and coaster brake were sick… AND it has the spring loaded rack on the back that is brilliant for little jaunts like this!

All that being said… I had a blast riding this simple, old, rusted machine, and it’s still going strong after a couple decades of decay!

Good job Worksman Cycles! You guys are tried and true American made from day one in 1898 (and you’re based out of one of my favorite cities)! Cheers to you fine folks.

ACRE Trail System // Packs x Apparel

ACRE

I’m in love with this photo (in case you were wondering). Mission Workshop is up to its usual alchemy of infusing unobtainium with riding gear once again.

“This is our latest, and most notable, launch since we brought the Arkiv system to life. Holding up to same high standards as Mission Workshop gear, ACRE will be made with light and weatherproof materials, without sacrificing durability, and fit for riding. The new ACRE Trail System™ of hydration packs and apparel was designed to balance the need to climb light and fast with durable protection from the elements.” – MW

Red Wing Heritage by Jesse x Jay

Red Wing by Jesse x Jay

“Red Wing is more than just a boot company; they are a community, a heritage, and a family.” – Jesse Lenz

This is a beautiful combination of photographers utilizing VSCO Film to document the amazing Red Wing Family. This is the ‘Create’ in Ride x Create.

Go to the VSCO Journal and check out how Jesse and Jay visually narrate the Red Wing story. I hope you enjoy.

Chrome // BLCKCHRM

BLCKCHRM

These are pretty much killer.

“BLCKCHRM is the ultimate in durability and refined stealth looks from premium materials that withstand the abuse of the city. The base material of the BLCKCHRM Sotnik, Bravo, and Citizen is Hypalon; which was originally created to meet the needs of U.S. Coast Guard rescue rafts. Hypalon will show wear, making the bag uniquely identifiable to the owner. Beyond the materials, BLCKCHRM is a collection of people who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and make things. We made BLCKCHRM™ for the dirt bags that carved their own path.

Made in America, without compromise. Guaranteed for life.” – Chrome

Chris Igleheart at Velo Cult

Oh man! This was a defining part of the trip. So random and great. Jeremy casually mentioned he was shooting at Velo Cult. Didn’t really know what that meant but I was down.  Aaron, Tim and I were done riding our Portland hillside awesome ride, got food and cleaned up… next stop Velo Cult!

Low and behold… Chris Igleheart was the subject. What an amazing dude all around. This fine fella has been a pioneer and taught many many frame builders that are killing it today! If you haven’t done your homework on Igleheart, you really should. Dude is so rad and so are his creations.

Of course I wasn’t gonna let these fellas get out of this gathering without a FOLLY Koozie. They exude the Ride x Create vibe and very much deserve the Folly Seal of Awesome!

I hope you dig! Go check out Chris Igleheart, Jeremy Dunn (he also does this rad thing), and Velo Cult.

Chrome // Reflective Camo Bags

Chrome Reflective BW

WHAT! These are way rad!!

The big thing about this is that Chrome is the first to integrate reflectivity with camo.  This is a limited edition trifecta of Chrome, camo and reflective shit.  So reflective in fact that you will be visible on your night riding excursions up to 100 feet!  The Citizen, Orlov, and Victor are available in this very limited Made In USA combo. Once they are gone… THEY’RE GONE!

Go hook it up folks!  I promise you’ll be glad you did!

(Chrome Info Side Note: Over 70% of their bags are made in Chico, California.  With the progressive decline in American manufacturing, Chrome is proud to make the majority of their bags in Chico, where the team brings over three centuries of experience in making quality products.)

Chrome // Barrage Cargo

Barrage Cargo

Chrome has been pulling out all the stops lately!  The ingenuity, style and function they’ve taken their bags to is top notch! Take the Barrage Cargo pack for instance.

“The Barrage embodies three fundamental ingredients of Chrome’s commitment to urban utility – adaptability, mobility and durability.   Chrome knew the only way to build the ultimate rolltop backpack was to deliver on every step of the design process that included construction of bombproof materials, advanced technology and a well thought out design.

According to Steve McCallion, Chrome’s President, ‘The Barrage was built from the ground up, based on over 18 years experience making messenger bags for professional messengers around the world. Everything we’ve learned making messenger bags is in the Barrage. It’s built twice to survive the abuse of the city. It features our Welded-Waterproof technology to keep contents dry. It seamlessly adapts to different load sizes and to life on and off the bike. It’s made in America. And, it’s guaranteed for life. We believe it will be our next franchise bag.’

The end result is a product that is functional and utilitarian in which cyclists living and riding in the city depend on.” – Chrome
