The Throwback // Skateboarding in 2000

Kyle 2000 Skating

Kyle Steed flying over a 5 stair

I love that Kyle has kept up with fun photos like this. It brings back so many good memories when we would skate every day/all day. Apparently I knew the rule of thirds before I knew the rule of thirds.

Kyle just had an interview post up over at WELD by WELD. You should go check it out to get a little glimpse into that crazy dudes world.

RIDE x CREATE

Chilled-Out Street Photography by Ed Templeton

imageI always love Ed interviews. They’re insightful and inspiring. Goal this year… pick up a 35mm pocket point x shoot and start to develop film photography skills.

“I just want to show life in an unvarnished way.” – Ed

Go check out Ed’s interview by Will Morley as well as a few great photos. This is my favorite of the bunch.

John Went AWOL

Prolly Awol Prolly Cold FrontI always love Mr. Watson’s ride recaps. They are inspiring to push just a little bit harder in developing an eye for photography and getting out there/getting rad!  Enjoy. These are two of my favorite shots from his “Going AWOL in the Diablo Range“. Go check out the rest!

The Diggest // Joe Rich from Terrible One Interview

PERSPECTIVE 003 – JOE RICH from The Diggest on Vimeo.

This is so rad and inspiring. When FOLLY first started I had no intention of diving into BMX. After being introduced to Chris Rost , the folks he rides with, and rad company’s like Terrible One my interest began to grow. I grew up skateboarding with little to no BMX riders around so I never gave it any thought. I don’t ride BMX but have developed a huge appreciation for the creative output that it is.

Here is my favorite photo from Joe’s interview on The Diggest. Go check out the rest.

“A couple months late, but damn are they worth it.” says Manual For Speed, and I agree!  This is my favorite of the bunch. Go check out the rest, get pumped, get on your bike, play in the freezing rain and mud, take a swig of whiskey, drink a coffee, warm up, then blog about it. You’re welcome. Have a good day!

“I got a few decent close up photos of the bike and another photo of Ty making a face.” – Jeremy Dunn

This is pretty great. I dig how Jeremy writes. Go to The Athletic and check out his write up on Stinner Frameworks x Mudfoot. You will smile.

Matt Lingo Visits Portland

Damian by Matt

It seems like right after I leave Portland everyone is visiting that great city! Matt Lingo had the opportunity to go and shoot for Chrome Industries and Leader all in one trip (best trip status). With all that greatness happening, photo bro love between Matt and Damian Riehl happened… but I’ll let you read about that for yourself.

The reason I bring up good ol’ Damian is right before I went out with Aaron Edge and Joshua Bryant on our ride of the 11 Portland bridges… I ran into Damian at Stumptown. Aaron informed me that Damian was a messenger and very rad photographer. So my initial thought was… ‘SWEET! I want to meet that dude’ .  Super nice and genuine fella!  Hopefully next trip to the great NW will incorporate a ride with him.

Anyways… Mr. Lingo is always bringing the heat with super solid photos! Go check out the recap of Matt’s trip. It brought back good memories.  This shot was my favorite of the bunch.

On November 15, the VSCO x Steadbrook Capsule Collection will be available for purchase in store as well as online via the Steadbrook store. A portion of the proceeds will go towards VSCO’s photography scholarship fund, a project we will be sharing more details on in the future.” – VSCO
