Had an amazing weekend filled with the Ride x Create vibe!  The weather was a bit nuts with wind, snow and ice on Saturday, then bright beautiful sun on sun…day (sorry).

Saturday I met up with my buddy Timo Stark to do some hill climb repeats in the snow and ice. Didn’t get shots of that due to my fingers not wanting to function. Regardless of the snow/cold, it was absolutely beautiful.  Very few cars with a light snow falling and climbing (very slowly for me) up some rad scenic radery.  So good!

Then… it was brought to my attention that Sunday, the fine folks below were going to explore a wildlife refuge close by to see if we could make a good loop for cross; and that we did!

I feel like we only scraped the surface of how significant of a place this is.  Being that it is a wildlife refuge, only certain areas are open depending on what hunting season it is.  With that said, I’d prefer not to get shot so mr. hunter gatherer man can grab that buck.  We all tend to not necessarily pay attention to “closed” or “no tresspasing” signs (they tend to be the best routes to ride) but in this case, we stayed on the dirt roads/paths that were open.

This was also the second ride (I believe) of our buddy Vic’s new Macho Man ride!  Pretty freakin sweet.

We got deep! And I say that lightly.  Although this place is extremely beautiful and great to ride cross, there were a shit ton of beer cans/trash/used condoms everywhere.  Since we value this place, we’ve already discussed cleaning up a few trashier places along the 14ish mile loop we routed yesterday that definitely received the Folly Seal of Awesome!

I hope your weekend was full of great adventure, creation and miles dominated.  This weekend did my heart so much good.  Take care, Happy Monday!
